What to Expect on the Day of Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

Prior to your laser skin resurfacing treatment, your provider will meet with you to review your treatment plan and explain how the laser treatment will target your areas of concern. When you are ready, you will be given protective eyewear, and your skin will be cleansed and applied with a topical numbing gel to ease any discomfort you may feel during the treatment. Your provider will proceed to apply the CoolPeel laser to your skin, carefully addressing every targeted area until the session is complete. Depending on the extent of your treatment, this procedure may take anywhere from ten to thirty minutes.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Recovery

Following your laser skin resurfacing treatment, you may feel temporary minor redness or swelling. You will be given an ice pack to soothe the skin until these side effects are reduced. While CoolPeel laser skin treatments offer minimal downtime for recovery, we still caution patients to avoid sun exposure as the skin will be quite sensitive to sun damage shortly after treatment.
